Dave Roti caught this 235# Cow Bluefin on Friday, aboard the Poseidon, a Bight Sportfishing charter
They were catching 40# to 70# bluefin, when this one decided to bite a long soak sardine.
Dave was on a 50# outfit at the time, so we set the drag accordingly and left it alone
It took methodical runs at first, no wild surges which helped the situation… we did chase with the boat one time, to avoid getting spooled
Kudos to crew, teamwork, fellow angler cooperation…all factors in a ‘long odds’ successful outcome…..
Patience paid off as it came over the rail at an hour and 40 minutes…and the jubilation began!
